Two vehicle codes on the register, and the line drawn between them and the cleaning work

0 · What the register says, and what it does not say

Two of the four codes on the board are vehicle codes: 45112, the sale of used cars and light motor vehicles, and 45200, their maintenance and repair. They sit alongside the cleaning activity rather than inside it, and they are run on their own paperwork from the same office at 50C Ealing Road.

Nothing on this page is a claim about approvals held or testing carried out. Where a piece of work needs an authorised station or a scheme that this company does not hold, it goes to one, and the fact that it did goes on the job card.

1 · Preparation before sale (code 45112)

Where a vehicle is held for sale, preparation runs in the same shape as a void turnaround — worst first, finish at the exit — and covers these in order:

The vehicle's own documents are not part of preparation and are never kept with the cleaning records. Where a service history or a handbook is in the car, it is listed on the card and left in the car.

2 · Maintenance and repair (code 45200)

The registered activity covers routine maintenance and repair of cars and light vehicles: fluid and filter changes, brake, tyre and exhaust work, bulbs, wipers, battery and belt replacement, and the diagnosis of faults that these account for. Each job is written on a card before it begins, with the registration, the mileage, the reported fault and the parts expected.

Three things are deliberately outside it. Statutory testing is not carried out here; a vehicle due a test goes to an authorised station and the date is written on its card. Work on vehicles above light goods weight is not taken. And nothing is signed off as complete on a verbal report — the card is closed in writing or it stays open.

Where the bay meets the cleaning work

A workshop bay is also one of the four premises types on the matrix, which means this company both works in bays and cleans them. The two are kept apart on paper: a bay cleaned under a cleaning works order is recorded on a sign-off sheet, a vehicle worked on under 45200 is recorded on a job card, and neither document refers to the other.

3 · What is shared, and what is not

The vehicle activities and the cleaning activity share an address, a van, a waste route and a stock of degreaser. They do not share files, orders, sign-offs or email threads. A question about a vehicle and a question about a floor both arrive at contracts@bleuchip.online and are separated as soon as they are read, because filing them together is how a record stops being evidence of anything.

Waste is the one place the two genuinely meet: oily rags, filters and the contents of a wet pick-up tank all leave by the same route and are recorded the same way. What is recorded is the type, the quantity, the date and where it went — set out with everything else this office holds under what is held.
